Network: Read standard network

Description

In Release 3.0F you can read standard network when you create or change a network.

You can use this function for networks which you have created by copyinga standard network and which do not yet have the status partially released or a subsequent status. When you carry out this function, the system deletes all activities and dependent objects (such as material components and milestones) and creates a new network by copying the latest version of the standard network. Any manual changes you may have made to the network will be lost in this process.

You can use this function to pass changes to standard networks onto the dependent networks automatically, without additional work.

In addition, this function is useful when you work with configuration:

When you create a network directly from a sales document in assembly processing, the system automatically changes the network whenever you change the characteristic value assignment in the sales document.

When you create a network for a sales document without assembly processing and copy the characteristic value assignment from the sales document or another network (for example, when creating a subnetwork or via a milestone function), the system will not automatically adjust the characteristic value assignments. With the new function Read standard network the system reads the standard network with the new characteristic value assignment and automatically updates the network accordingly.

Changes to the Interface

The menu in network maintenance was changed and includes Edit -> Functions -> Read std network. You can only execute this function from the network header because it is inactive on all other screens.
