Scheduling in the Project System: Changes in 3.0

Description

In Release 3.0, the following changes were made to scheduling in Project System:

• Control key: Changes to indicators

In Release 3.0, there are two different indicators in the control key for scheduling and determining capacity requirements for activities.

Please refer to the release note Capacity Requirements Planning Indicator in the Control Key for more information.

• System status "Dates not current"

If you make changes relevant to scheduling in a network, all WBS elements automatically get the status "Dates not current". Conversely, if you make changes to a WBS element which are relevant to scheduling, the network gets the status "Dates not current".

• Consideration of WBS element dates

With Release 3.0, when an activity is assigned to a WBS element, the dates in that WBS element are used in scheduling the network containing that activity. WBS element dates are considered a constraint when scheduling activities assigned to WBS elements.
