Workforce Planning
Description
From Release 3.1G you can distribute work among people for specific periods. You distribute the work on a planning board that is quick and easy to use.
There are two possibilities to distribute work:
- Project-related distribution
- Work center-related distribution
In project-related distribution, all WBS elements with activities from the network are displayed on the planning board for the selected project. You choose people and assign them to activities. You distribute the work among the people for specific periods.
In work center-related distribution, all people from the selected work center are displayed along with the activities from networks with their respective WBS elements. You distribute the work among the people for specific periods.
Effects on Customizing
You must make a few settings in Customizing in order to use Workforce Planning.
Changes to the Interface
The menu Logistics → Project management → Planning or Execution → Resources was extended to include the menu option Workforce planning.
Planning
If you want to use Workforce Planning, you should only create period splits on the Workforce Planning board for the networks used.
