Short text
Distribution of Work Breakdown Structures Using ALE
Description
Work breakdown structures (WBS) which you create in a (master) system can be distributed to different R/3 (receiver) systems within the framework of the ALE business process.
You use the project profile and the controlling area of the relevant WBS to determine the receiver system.
You can only change the project definition and WBS elements of a distributed WBS in the master system, but you can display the WBS in all the receiver systems.
Primary postings from other R/3 components, such as FI and MM, and allocations within CO can be assigned in any of the WBS systems. When postings are made in the receiver systems, the appropriate CO documents lines are passed on to the relevant WBS master system using ALE. This means that all the data is available for evalation in reporting in the master system.
You can only plan and budget in the master system.
Changes in procedure
Distribution is effected automatically when you save the WBS with the filter objects "controlling area" and "project profile" which you select in ALE customizing.
Effects on Customizing
Before you can distribute WBSs, you must maintain an appropriate ALE distribution model which contains the partner profiles between the various systems.
Dependent functions
You can only archive WBSs in the master system. In the receiver system, you can delete WBS if the "Deletion indicator" status has been set in the master system and the change adopted in the receiver system.
Further notes
To send WBSs, choose Tools -> Business Framework -> ALE -> Master data -> Logistics/Accounting -> Project -> Send.
A WBS can only be overwritten in the receiver system with data from the same master system.
