Unit Costings in Networks

Description

From Release 4.5A, you can maintain unit costings in activity-assigined networks for the general costs activities and in valuated project stock for material components.

This has the following advantages:

• Detailed cost planning possible at an early planning stage, without corresponding network detail

• Representation of the cost element split for internally-processed materials in asynchronous network costings.

• Unit costings are also copied when you create using templates in network maintenance, the project planning board, or structure planning.

• The costs from the unit costing are copied to the activity during the network costing and are distributed over the duration of the activity.

• Schedule shifts lead to the costs being redistributed over the duration of the project. However, the unit costing is not recalculated using the new prices.

• The simulation versions include all the unit costing functions.

You maintain the unit costing in network maintenance, in the detail screen for the general costs activity or material component.

Effects on Customizing

The costing and valuation variants for the unit costing must have been maintained.

In the Project System IMG, you must define the costing variant for the unit costing in the general costs activity and the material component in the costing variant for the activity.

Further notes

You can maintain either a unit costing or an invoicing plan, not both, for a general costs activity.
