Key Figure Reporting with Connection to R/3 EIS

Description

From Release 4.5A, all the basic characteristics and key figures in the Project System can be made available under two aspects:

  • Costs, revenues, and payments
  • Work, dates, and duration

This means you can evaluate the following together:

  • Master data characteristics from the inheritance run for summarization
  • Logistics key figures
  • Accounting key figures

The following options for further analysis of the data extracts are available:

  • Transfer of data to the Executive Information System (EIS)
In EIS, you use formulas to define additional key figures, and can carry out any summarizations and groupings you like.
  • Making data available in customer enhancement KAP60001
You can use this enhancement ot pass characteristics and key figures on to external applications.
  • Output data in a simple list (GLV)
In the list, you can process the characteristics and key figures further and export them to MS WORD and MS EXCEL.

The output of data to EIS or to external applications, via the customer enhancement, can be carried out as often as you wish. In EIS, you can cancel existing data from earlier exports: the customer enhancement makes current data available.

Dependent functions

In the summarization inheritance run, the master data characteristics are stored in a database table and are then available for transfer to EIS.

You can use customer enhancement KAP60001 to add your own key figures to the sender structure for project key figures. The following components are available:

  • EXIT_SAPLPS09_001 Enhancing the EIS Sender Structure for Accounting
  • EXIT_SAPLPS09_002 Enhancing the EIS Sender Structure for Logistics

Effects on Customizing

You define the Key figures and master data characterics in the Project System IMG.

Changes to the Interface

Data transfers to EIS usually take place at regular intervals. You access the function in the Project Execution menu by choosing Period-end closing -> Reporting -> Transfer data to EIS.

Changes in procedure

You make the data selection for the extract in the selection screen for logical database PSJ; costs, revenues, and payments are read from the project info database on a value-category basis.

Key figures are configured for the following characteristics:

  • Project definition
  • Period and fiscal year
  • CO plan version
  • Value category
  • Any data from the inheritance

We deliver two sender structures which you can use as templates for your own aspects and automatic generaion of transfer rules to EIS. They comprise:

  • Accounting key figures
  • Logistics key figures

Both data structures are transferred simultaneously.

Further notes

All the characteristics and key figures are made available without hierarchy information. The reports from the project information system can only be accessed from EIS using the report/report interface.
