Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

Description

For Release 4.5A, the following changes and enhancements have been made to the WBS:

Flexible Detail Screens for WBS Elements

You can now define your own view of the detail screens for WBS elements. For detailed information, read Flexible Detail Screens.

Non-Top-WBS Element for Capital Investment Program

In earlier release, only top WBS elements could be assigned to capital investment program items. However, from 4.5A, WBS elements from any level can be used.

This only applies if WBS elements superior or subordinate to the one in question are not assigned to capital investment program items.

Actual Posting in Cost Center for Statistical WBS Elements

You can now specify the cost center for posting directly in the "Control" detail screen for the statistical WBS element.

Create Asset from WBS Element

Choose Extras -> Complete asset in the WBS element overview to create an asset master from the selected WBS element. If you specified a location for the WBS element, this is copied to the data for the asset.

New "Location" Field for Project Definition and WBS Element

You can define a location in the basic data for the project definition and the organization data for the WBS element. The location is an organizational subunit of the plant.

Note that, when you create an individual WBS element using a template, the location is taken over from the template project definition. This location is copied to both the new project definition and the new WBS element.

Archive Vendor Information

When you archive operative WBSs and networks, the vendor information, along with vendor information assignments to WBS elements, activities, and components, is also archived.

Note that vendor information on a project cannot be deleted until the project definition has been deleted.

Time to Milestone Date

You can now maintain a time to the scheduled start or finish date of a milestone.
