Description

Assignment of Standard Structures and Sales Documents (Assembly Processing

In assembly processing, the sales document is linked to a standard network by means of the material. The standard network is, in turn, assigned to a standard WBS by means of a standard WBS element. When you save the sales document, the system creates an active project in the background, into which it copies the predefined standard structures.

If the referenced standard WBS elements belonged to the same standard WBS, only one active project was created in earlier releases which contained the relevant WBS elements.

From Release 4.5A, you can use the indicator SD/PS assignment to regulate whether, in this case, a single WBW element (as before) or a hierarchy should be created for a project.

If you choose the latter, the system uses both the number of the sales document and the sales document item when generating the unique WBS element numbers. The WBS element numbers in the various subtrees are distinguished by this sales document item.

In automatic generation of WBS element numbers, the area between the first and second special characters in the standard WBS element numbers are replaced with the matching number of characters from the sales document number. The existing positions are filled, going left, and beginning with the last figure from the sales document number. If the number of available positions is not sufficient, the first figures of the sales document number are left off.

In the same way, the area between the second and third special characters in the standard WBS element number are replaced with the sales document item.

Changes to the Interface

You set the "SD/PS assignment" indicator in the project definition of the standard WBS, in the Controltab page.

Effects on Customizing

To set the indicator, you must have maintained a project editing mask in Project System customizing. When creating the mask, do not forget to include place holders for both the document number and the item number. Choose an appropriate number of characters for the place holders.

The example above would require an editing mask like this: /000000-0000-00
