Enhanced long text maintenance for master data

Scope of Functions

In master data maintenance you used to have to create a long text for each commitment item, funds center and fund. This function has been enhanced. In Customizing, you can now also define additonal text types aswell as the standard text. The text types can be maintained independently of each other, for the funds center, commtment item and fund. The Customizing settings made are cross-client and cross-FM area.

When you choose the function Long text, you are offered all the text types created in Customizing for maintenance. You can choose the maintenance language. The recommended language is the log-on language. You can enter long texts for a text type in several languages.

Damage caused to data by errors

The long texts maintained up to now are assigned to the text type 01 Standard text.

You enhance the long text function with additonal text types in the steps

• Create additional text types for funds centers

• Create additional text types for commitment items

• Create additional text types for funds

Changes to the Interface

If you choose the function Long text, you no longer start the SAPscript Editor directly, rather you use the function to call up the screen Maintain long texts, which offers you all existing text types for maintenance selection. You call up the SAPscript Editor by double clicking on one of the text types offered to you.
