FM account assignment in maintenance order at component/activity level
Scope of Functions
Previously, you could only define FM account assignments at header level in the maintenance order. Starting from this release, it is possible to specify an FM account assignment differing from the header data for each component and activity.
You can activate this component/activity account assignment for Funds Management Government in Customizing. This activation has the following effects:
- The header account assignment now only functions as a default value. It is automatically transferred when you are creating components and activities, but it can be overwritten in the relevant tab page (Activity acc. ass. and Component acc. ass.).
- All components/activities must have a complete FM account assignment. Otherwise, status Funds Management account assignment incomplete is set by the system at header level of the maintenance order and no purchase requisition can be generated for these components/activities.
- You can only make changes to account assignments, before any purchase orders have been generated. In contrast, the purchase requisition belonging to the component or the activity is automatically adjusted.
- You can use function Mass change to change existing FM account assignments. Any changes made affect all the components/activities of a maintenance order.
You need to be aware that, in this new scenario too, the update of data in Funds Management Government first takes place during the generation of the purchase requisition.
You should also take note that, in contrast to the scenario for "header account assignment", the datasets in Controlling and Funds Management Government are not updated consistently.
You should only activate the new scenario, if you require the contents of Controlling and Funds Management to correspond in your organisation.

If you want to define FM account assignments at component/activity level in the maintenance order, you must activate the FM-PM detailed account assignment in the Customizing of Funds Management Government. For further information on this topic, refer to the Funds Management Government Implementation Guide in section Make other settings.
You should be aware that, in this scenario, indicator FM-CO assignment binding should not be set in step Make other settings.
In addition, the integration of the order settlement from Controlling should not be activated in step Choose business transactions for integration.
