Functions for Payment Selection (Changed/Enhanced)

Use

Activating Payment Selection

Starting from release, you must activate payment selection in Customizing, before you can make a posting or run payment selection (RFFMS200).

Depending on which customer area you belong to, you must choose one of the following settings:

  • Original Function
You must choose this setting, if you have migrated from standard component Funds Management (FI-FM) to industry-specific component Funds Management Government (IS-PS) and you configured payment conversion prior to release 4.5A.
  • Enhanced Function
You must choose this setting, if you have set up component Funds Management Government for the first time in this release or you have used previous IS-PS releases.

Update of Financial Transaction 80 for Check Clearing

Payments made via a bank clearing account or a check clearing account that is controlled by a commitment item with financial transaction 80 have previously been recorded in Funds Management with amount type Paid (0250) (that is, in exactly the same way as accounts controlled by a commitment item with financial transaction 90). It was therefore not clear whether these payments had been made via a clearing account.

Starting from this release, you can make a setting in Customizing so that payments made via a bank or check clearing account controlled by a commitment item with financial transaction 80 are documented in the FM document.

Such payments are recorded as statistical payment records with the special amount type Paid Check Clearing (0260). When reconciling a bank clearing account with a bank posting, the statistical payment record is reversed and the invoice is converted to amount type Paid (0250).

You should only control bank clearing accounts with a commitment item with financial transaction 80, if:

  • the payment posting of a bank posting can be clearly assigned and cleared on a 1:1 basis
  • "pending" payments must not only be monitored in the bank clearing accounts but also in Funds Management

In all other cases, you should control the check and bank clearing accounts with a commitment item with financial transaction 90.

Conversion of Payment Status for Down Payments

In the standard system, down payments are recorded in Funds Management with amount type Original (0100). Starting from this release, if you activate the update of check and bank clearances, down payments will be converted to amount type Paid (0250). To do this, your bank and check clearing accounts must be predefined with a commitment item with financial transaction 80 and bank accounts must be predefined with a commitment item with financial transaction 90.

This conversion takes places as soon as the bank clearing lines in the down payment have been cleared with a bank posting.

Parallel Processing

Starting from this release, you can divide payment selection processing between several dialog processes in order to reduce the total runtime of the program.

Activating the Splitting Procedure

Starting from this release, you can use the splitting procedure to record partial payments in an invoice that is distributed to more than one account assignment in Funds Management. The splitting procedure divides up the amounts of payments for revenues and expenses in the invoice between the appropriate FM account assignments.

If you do not activate the splitting procedure, the amounts of payments will be passed on to each of the FM account assignments involved in sequence.

New Functions for Controlling Payment Selection

The following new components in enhancement SAPLFMPA can now be used to control payment selection:

  • EXIT_SAPLFMPA_004
You can use this component to ensure that payment records for FM documents that have only been updated statistically are actually (and not statistically) updated.
  • EXIT_SAPLFMPA_005
You can use this component to include document line items controlled with financial transaction 50 (which are therefore not relevant for update) in the calculation of the proportional parts when you are converting partial payments and residual items.
  • EXIT_SAPLFMPA_006
You can use this component to exclude residual items resulting from overpayments from payment conversion.
