Changes to Scheduling in the Project System

Scope of Functions

The WBS scheduling function has changed in Release 4.6A. You can now choose from the following preconfigured settings:

• Top-down scenario
  

The dates for schedulign are prescribed by the project definition or WBS elements. The dates in the activities must be inside the range of the basic dates for the WBS element to which they are assigned.

• Bottom-up scenario
  

The dates of the activities are passed up through the project structure from the activities to the WBS elements and from there to the project definition.

• Freely definable scheduling
  

As before, you can configure the scheduling parameters as you want.

Other Changes

As has always been the case for activities, you can now show the earliest and latest dates in WBS elements separately in the graphic.

In addition, you can have the last scheduling run made or saved displayed as a shadow object in the graphic area.
