Scope of Functions

The following new features and changes have been implemented for the network in Release 46A

• Validation and Substitution
  

You can now carry out validation and substitution for networks too. Previously this was only possible for work breakdown structures.

You use validation to check values and combinations of values when you enter them in the Project System; with substitution you can replace them.

• Plan Costs - Determine or Update
  

To influence the performance, you can now specify in the network header or the parameters for the network type (Customizing) whether the plan costs are updated or determined during saving by setting the Plan cost calc. indicator. You can determine whether this always happens, never, or from Released status.

If you choose to update the plan costs, only those objects that were changes are costed again.

Even if you decide that the plan costs should never be determined or updated, you can always start the function in network maintenance.

• Work ->Internal
  

On the activity detail screen, the name of the Work tab page has been changed to Internal.

Effects on Customizing

In Customizing for the Project System the activties for the maintenance of validation and substitution have been added to Network.
