Changes to Value Recording in Material Components

Scope of Functions

From this release, planned costs are automatically recorded in material components when the network costing is run. It is no longer necessary to access the asynchronous network costing.

Background:

When material is procured for a network activity, the system records the planned costs in the activity in the period for the requirements date. However, the requirements date does not always coincide with the planned costs, particularly where the materials are procured externally. In this instance, the planned procurement costs arise at an earlier point. The system reproduces the earlier commitment of funds by updating the planned costs to the material component.

Recording Planned Costs:

Previously, planned costs were only recorded in material components by means of the asynchronous network costing.

From this release, the values are recorded automatically. It is no longer necessary to call up the asynchronous network costing.
