SI-Liable Employees with a Second Part-Time Job

Scope of Functions

The part-time pay and the pay from the SI-liable main job is added together for these employees. If this total exceeds the income threshold for health insurance, or, if it exceeds the income threshold for pension insurance for employees with voluntary health insurance, the income thresholds are reduced in relation to the salary. Note, however, the following exceptions:

  • Unemployment Insurance
    Unlike pension and health insurance, it is not possible to total the SI-liable main job with the pay from the second part-time job. The income-threshold for unemployment insurance for the SI-liable main job cannot be reduced.
  • Similarly, if the employee has voluntary nursing and health insurance, the pay from the SI-liable main job and the part-time job cannot be totaled. You cannot reduce the income threshold in the health and nursing insurance category.

To suppress the totaling of the pay, and the reduction of the income threshold, use the new special rule for pension insurance, 01 (Part-time second job). You must specify this special rule in the Social Insurance infotype (0013) for all SI-liable employees with a part-time second job.

Master Data Maintenance

Example:

An employee has, in addition to the main job in your company. a second part-time job in another company.

Infotype DEUEV (0020):
Enter 101 (SI-liable) for the person group.

Infotype Recurring Payments/Deductions (0014):
Enter the part-time pay. Use the model wage type MU50 (Pay from second employer).

Infotype Social Insurance (0013):
Identify the employee according to their SI-liable main job.
Also, identify the employee as a multiple recipient. Enter the SI attribute 22 (Multiple payment).
In the next screen in the infotype, enter the special rule 01 (Part-time second job) in the group box Pension insurance. This ensures that the pay from the SI-liable main job and and the pay from the second part-time job are not totaled for unemployment insurance. If the employee is marked as having voluntary health and nursing insurance, the pay from both jobs is not totaled in this category.
