QM: Mass Changes for QM Inspection Data

Description

The function for activating the inspection data for several material masters was previously available in Release 3.0. If the parameters for an inspection type were not previously set in the material master, the system set the parameters according to the settings in Customizing (proposed values for the inspection type).

In Release 4.0A, the corresponding transaction has three additional functions for making mass changes to the QM inspection data:

Mass deactivation of the inspection type

Using this function, you deactivate an inspection type for a selection of materials.

Processing the inspection data individually

Using this function, you can branch directly to the QM inspection data for selected materials without having to call up the corresponding transaction to maintain the material master.

Mass changes to QM inspection data

Using this function, you can set the parameters for an inspection type for a selection of materials.
You can use the following variants for processing:

  • You can have the system can create change documents when you use these functions, if necessary.
  • You can use the functions for activating an inspection type, deactivating an inspection type, and making mass changes to the inspection data with or without the use of an intermediate list.
  • If you create a list, you can selectively choose the materials you want to process from this list.

  • If you do not create a list, the system executes the corresponding function for all of the selected materials. You cannot influence the materials that will be processed.

  • You can also use the functions for activating an inspection type and deactivating an inspection type in the batch mode.

Further notes

You cannot have materials in inspection stock when the first stock-relevant inspection type (inspection types for inspection lot origins 01, 04, 05, and 08) is activated or the last stock-relevant inspection type is deactivated. In such a case, the system does not carry out the desired function; it does, however, document this in a corresponding log.
