Scope of Functions
This release note provides an overview of all central ENJOY activities that have been implemented in the QM component.
For a listing of all functional enhancements that were implemented in QM for this release, refer to the release note Overview of New Developments for Release 4.6A.
Menu, Pushbuttons, and Icons
The functions in program screens and tables are now predominantly accessible through pushbuttons and icons. As a result of this change, these functions were eliminated as menu entries, thus providing a clearer and more streamlined menu.
The application toolbar is now displayed statically. This means that although you may not be able to execute certain functions under certain circumstances, the individual functions will always be located in the same position in the application toolbar.
The general task level menu in QM has been optimized. The primary changes are as follows:
- The previously existing menus "Basic data" and "Inspection planning" have been integrated in a "Quality planning" menu.
- A menu option "Info system" has been included in each QM subcomponent.
Displaying Field Values in a Dropdown Box (Expandable List Field)
In many cases, the system displays dropdown boxes for the simplified entry of field values. The display of the language-dependent text information for a key is an advantage of this feature. You therefore select a field value directly via the text description.
These changes were made with the following criteria in mind:
- In general, all domains with fixed values were converted.
- Only those Customizing-based fields which normally require less than 20 field values were converted.
Input Help in Modeless Dialog Boxes
In QM, you now access the input help uniformly using the F4 key. All previously implemented special solutions (for example, entering an asterisk '*' for a particular search function) are no longer supported.

Changing Transactions to Include Tab Pages
You can now use tab pages when processing data in the transactions for the following objects:
- Sample-drawing procedure
- Inspection lot processing
When you create an inspection lot, the system automatically assigns an inspection specification and calculates the sample size when you choose Save on the first screen.
If you choose the "Inspection specification" or "Sample" tab manually, however, you must also choose the corresponding function "Choose task list/specification" or "Calculate sample."
- Quality info record in procurement (material/vendor)
- QM orders (creating orders or assigning orders to materials)
- Inspection settings (mass changes to inspection settings for materials)
Changing Selection Screens in Reports to Include Tab Pages
To provide a better overview, various selection screens on individual partial screens have been included as tab pages in the reports.
Note- Make sure you change any existing report variants in your system using report RSVARDOC.
The following functions were changed:
- Creating/changing QM orders
- Mass maintenance of inspection settings in the material master
- Mass maintenance of quality info records
- Worklist for results recording
Uniform Function Call When Processing/Displaying Inspection Lots and Quality Notifications
The QM-specific display for the object selection of an inspection lot or quality notification has changed. You now access these functions using the F4 search help. You can perform an extended search using the search icon in the application toolbar.
The pushbuttons "Current lot" or "Current notification" are no longer available.
