Enhanced Features for the Personal Object Worklist
Use
As of SAP NetWeaver 7.3 and SAP Netweaver 7.2 SP2, the POWL framework (Personal Object Worklist) has been extended as follows:
- ·New POWL work area header
The POWL now contains a work area header.
You can decide to display a visible area header. The area header is displayed based on configuration settings. If the work area header is configured to be visible, you can provide a text for the header. If no text is provided, the area header shall display the text Worklist by default.
The header provided by the POWL Framework shall be invisible by default. You can configure it to be visible if required. There is only one header per POWL page.
The worklist header contains the worklist name, and the number of worklist items displayed in brackets. In the case of workflow worklists, only the number of open items (status New or In Progress) is displayed.
Note: In the case of a portal context or a business client the header is automatically provided.
- ·New POWL toolbar
The POWL user interface now includes a toolbar containing the following new or updated options and functionalities. The work area toolbar shall be visible by default. You can hide the toolbar if required.
- New Worklist button:
- The New Worklistbutton opens a guided activity that allows you to create new worklists. You can name and set the attributes for the new worklist including the object type to be displayed, and the category to which the worklist is assigned.
- Change Worklistbutton:
- The Change Worklist button opens a dialog that allows you to change the worklist selection criteria.
- Personalize options
- The Personalizebutton opens a dialog allowing you to personalize the worklist.
- The POWL user interface now allows both the user and the administrator to personalize the refresh options. The administrator can enter a set of users who have the authority to personalize a refresh setting for a selected query. For these queries, the refresh setting is displayed in an editable mode to the user. Once the user changes the refresh setting for a query, they can save it as a personalized setting. The user can modify the refresh setting of any user defined query. No Refresh Allowedis also now available as a refresh option.
- Updated Worklist switching area
The Worklist switching area user interface comprises of the worklist category, and the worklist switch or query. The switching area has been updated with the following changes:
- The switching area no longer contains the header Active Queries.
- The switching area is displayed only when there is more than one worklist or query assigned to the application..
- For an object worklist, the worklist switch displays the worklist name followed by the number of items in parenthesis. For a workflow worklist, the worklist switch displays the worklist name followed by the number of open items in parenthesis.
- The default layout setting is Tabstrip if the active queries are all assigned to the same category, or no category, or if the number of queries is less than five.
- The default layout setting is Link Matrix if the number of active queries is more than five and they are assigned to different categories.
- Refresh Information
You can now see the time of the last refresh, as well as a link triggering a manual refresh for the current worklist displayed underneath the worklists.
The refresh timestamp appears in the format #
- Combining different worklists
It is now possible to combine different worklists into a single POWL application.
- Enablement of launchpad navigation
It is now possible to navigate to a target application from the POWL user interface via the launchpad.
- Clear option in Quick Criteria Maintenance screen
You can now clear all the selection items in the Quick Criteria Maintenancescreen with a single click, using the Clearoption.
- Partial update option in POWL
A partial update function is now available on the POWL user interface. This partial update allows you to update a query result list in the POWL immediately after editing, creating or deleting an object in a separate window, without changing the current selection made or the page of the displayed result list.
