Short text
Define SAP EM Interface Functions (Enhanced)
Use
As of PI_BASIS 2006.1, you can define that the following parameters and IDs in the application system are to be deleted in SAP Event Management (SAP EM) when a corresponding business object is changed:
- Control parameters
- Info parameters
- Query IDs
- Tracking IDs
Up to PI_BASIS 2005.1, it was only possible to change existing parameters for an event handler in SAP EM when the corresponding business object was updated in the application system. As of PI_BASIS 2006.1, the existing structures for these parameters in SAP EM have been enhanced with an additional indicator that specifies the parameters for a corresponding business object that SAP EM is to delete. You can set this indicator in the corresponding extractor function module in the application system.
Furthermore, you can define a new extractor for your own queue name. Up to PI_BASIS 2005.1, the name of the business process type was used by default as the queue name in Customizing for SAP EM. The application system stored all corresponding event handlers and event messages in one queue. You can now define your own queue names and assign them to the corresponding business process type. As a result you can use multiple queues. This means, for example, that if an error occurs during event message processing, event messages in unaffected queues are still processed.

Effects on Customizing
- To set the indicator in the application system, you must use the corresponding extractor function module under Define SAP EM Extraction Functions.
- All function module templates can be found in function group /SAPTRX/FUNCTEMPL_AS, for example, template /SAPTRX/QUEUE_NAME_TEMPLATE for the queue name extractor.
- To define your own queue name, you must define a new extractor function module under Define SAP EM Extraction Functions.
- To access the new queue name, you must assign it to the corresponding business process type under Define Business Process Types.
Further Information
For more information, see the function module template documentation, for example, function group /SAPTRX/FUNCTEMPL_AS, template /SAPTRX/QUEUE_NAME_TEMPLATE.
