New Interface Design for Declarations to the Authorities

Scope of Functions

A new initial screen for Periodic Declarations has been designed to provide easy access to functions associated with declarations to the customs authorities. Functions on the new initial screen enable you to

  • Create periodic customs declarations
  • Maintain data associated with declarations
  • Display and update foreign trade data in material master records
  • Create and display goods catalogs
  • Make relevant settings in the Implementation Guide (IMG)

Also on the initial screen, there is an additional area that you can fill with a picture or text. You can include the standard picture or a text in this screen from Customizing or by choosing Environment -> Maintain user data from the initial screen. The standard picture is SD_FT_GOV_START. You can create a standard text for display in this section with transaction SO10.

For the creation of Periodic declarations, the new GUI design presents several processes associated with customs declarations on a single screen. For example, if you select INTRASTAT declaration for Luxembourg, the system displays the following easy-to-use options for inbound and dispatched goods:

  • Select data
  • Create a data file
  • Create a diskette

You can select each of these options with a configurable variant or execute all steps with a variant. Options that are not available for selected countries (such as creating a diskette) are suppressed when you select the respective country.

Special Regulations

If a country contains territories that must be declared separately or under an alternate country key, you can enter these exceptions in a customizing table that was created for this purpose. You can both include or exclude countries or regions from their normal economic territories (for example, the European Union) for statistical reasons. For example, you can specify in this table that a particular country/region be accessed with a different country key.

Examples

San Marino (located within the Italian border) is a non-EU country. Goods movements to and from San Marino must be declared as Italian INTRASTAT declarations. On the other hand, you can exclude this country for EXTRASTAT declarations.

The Canary Islands are entered under the country code ES for Spain for INTRASTAT declarations. In this case, you can define the Canary Islands as a specific Spanish region in the SAP-System.
