ERP_WEB_CHANNEL_2: SAP Web Channel Exp. Mgmt 2.0 for SAP ERP (New)

Use

As of SAP enhancement package 5 SP08 for SAP ERP 6.0 (SAP_APPL 605), the SAP Web Channel Experience Management 2.0 for SAP ERP (ERP_WEB_CHANNEL_2) business function is available. This business function allows you to use SAP Web Channel Experience Management 2.0 with an SAP ERP back end.

The SAP Web Channel Experience Management 2.0 for SAP ERP (ERP_WEB_CHANNEL_2) business function provides the back-end connectivity required to deploy the application on an SAP ERP back end. If you want to use SAP Web Channel Experience Management 2.0 (application component Web Channel, WEC) with an SAP ERP back end, you must activate this business function.

SAP Web Channel Experience Management is an application that is not part of SAP ERP. It is separately licensed and must be separately installed. When installed and deployed on an SAP ERP back end, SAP Web Channel Experience Management enables you to create Web Shops as the foundation for an e-commerce solution tailored to your individual needs. You can quickly set up attractive Web shops that are fully integrated in order processing of the Sales and Distribution (SD) application component. The standard product catalog used for SAP Web Channel Experience Management is based on SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management (SAP NetWeaver MDM).

As of release 2.0 of SAP Web Channel Experience Management, the following main new features are available:

  • SAP NetWeaver MDM product catalog: new navigation modes; sorting and filtering lists of products; generic articles
  • Product catalog: integration of the TREX product catalog that is part of SAP ERP as an alternative to using SAP NetWeaver MDM for setting up product catalogs
  • User management: contact scenario; guest user scenario
  • General functions: live support using chat
  • E-commerce: wish lists; address changes in orders
  • Framework: JSF 2.0 UI technology; working in multiple browser windows or multiple browser tabs
