Sales Support: Enhancements to Sales Support (CAS)

Description

Release 3.0 contains the following new functions in the area of Sales Support:

  • linking of the output log to sales support output
  • maintenance of number ranges for sales activities and address lists
  • automatic MAIL output (automatic messaging)
  • multilingual sales activity texts

The output log is now linked to the sales support output. From the output dialog screen in sales activity processing, you can now branch to the output log for the processed output (Goto -> Processing log). If an error occurs, the system creates a processing log.

The direct mailing also issues a log if it is successful. This is for documentation purposes. This replaces the previous log of the direct mailing, that is, the printout of this information in a spool list, if the direct mailing was performed in the background.

Number ranges can now be created for and assigned to an address list. Number range maintenance for sales activities is now a separate step in Customizing.

As of Release 3.0, a standard text containing variables can be sent and the variables are replaced. This option can only be used for the sales activity output type MAIL and then only if the appropriate setting has been made in Customizing (see below).

The function can be used, for example, to inform a member of the sales staff of a sales activity which was created for him/her. The member of sales staff can then branch from the mail to the sales activity.

A sales activity text can now be entered in several languages. When creating/changing/displaying a sales activity, you initially have access to the texts in the logon language. You can change to the 'All languages' mode using a function key. In this mode, you can then create texts in languages other than the logon language using 'Create text'.

Effects on Customizing

Number range maintenance was changed and enhanced in Customizing as follows:

  • Number ranges can be created for and assigned to address lists.
  • There is now a separate menu option for assigning a number range to a sales activity.

The number ranges allocated to the sales activity types appear on the detail screens of the respective sales activity types. However, the fields for the number ranges are not ready for input.

To send automatic mail output in the sales activity, you must follow the following steps in Customizing or in the application menu:

  1. Set the output type MAIL as follows:
o Select condition access ('x').
o Enter the following text routines and parameter routines:
- word processing program: SAPMV43A,,,,FORM routine: TEXT_SYMBOL_REPLACE
- parameter program: SAPMV43A,,,,FORM routine: MAILAKTIONSPARAMETER
o Create the mail text.
  1. Assign the output type MAIL to the access sequence that you use for output determination for sales activities.
  2. Using the application menu, create condition records for the output type MAIL.
