Changes in Foreign Trade as of 3.0C

Description

As of Release 3.0C, the Foreign Trade module contains the following new functions:

  • Authorization concept in export control
  • Creating a goods catalog
  • Menu option "Output"
  • Menu option "Master data"
  • Menu option "Environment"

Authorization concept in export control

The goal of this authorization concept is to prevent users who are not authorized from working with the following objects/activities:

  • Create/Change/Display licenses
  • List of export control classes by license
  • List of customers by license
  • List of sales documents by license
  • List of existing licenses

The concept is structured so that these are represented in the system by legal regulation and license type.

Example

According to the authorization assigned to a user, he or she is not allowed to display the individual export license type. As a result, the list of existing licenses he or she is shown contains only the other license types.

The authorization concept is called V_EMBK_GEG and has the following authorization fields:

  • GEGRU
  • GEART
  • ACTVT

The following authorizations are delivered as samples:

  • V_ALL SD export licenses, all authorizations
  • V_GENEHMIG SD export licenses
  • V_SD_SYS SD system archiving

Creating a goods catalog

If you create INTRASTAT and EXTRASTAT trade statistics using data processing, certain countries (for example, the Federal Republic of Germany) require the creation of a goods catalog. This means that the goods catalogs are checked to determine whether goods have been correctly assigned in the nomenclature of goods for the foreign trade statistics.

A goods catalog contains the following information:

  • a required description of goods, that is, the trade name or the usual description of the goods; this, if necessary, may also include additional information such as the material type, the processing type, and the purpose for which the material is to be used
  • an eight-digit commodity code
  • a note which classifies goods which have been added since the previous version of the goods catalog

The goods catalog is sorted by commodity code and, within this code, by material/part number.

Two different forms of goods catalogs are available in the system:

  • Goods catalog in printed form
Program RVEXWAPA creates the goods catalog as a list. You may create this list online for a small number of material master records. Otherwise, SAP recommends that you create this list in the background
  • Goods catalog on diskette
Program RVEXWADA creates an ASCII file with the contents of the goods catalog. Using a Windows macro, you can, for example, convert this file into a Word file. The 'Statistische Bundesamt' (German Federal Office of Statistics) (Department VB - 25), for example, requires a Word 6.0 file in landscape format, in the Times New Roman size 12 font. The conversion of the files is not supported by the SAP system.

Menu option "Output"

With this menu option, you can perform the following two functions:

  • Select export billing documents in order to print particular output or documents
  • Send output

Menu option "Master data"

The work of the employee responsible for import and export is made easier by this menu option which he or she can use to access the following required master data directly:

  • Vendor master
  • Purchasing info record
  • Material master
  • Customer master

Menu option "Environment"

To make it easier to gather information on customers in the foreign trade department, you can use this menu option to access lists of:

  • Material documents
  • Purchasing documents
  • Sales documents
  • Delivery documents
  • Shipment documents
  • Billing documents
