Shipping: Client's Logical System in EDI Control Record for Shipping Notification

Description

On transmitting the IDoc from the R/3 system to a convertor the shipping notification for EDI communication (output category DESADV/DESADT or IDoc basis category DESADV01) is enhanced with a control record. This contains the (technical) information about the sender. Until now this sender was completed in the sales segment in the customer master, where the 'account number at customer' field (KNVV-EIKTO) was used. It has to be maintained from the sold-to party view so maintenance is not possible for pure ship-to parties.

From 3.1G the client's assigned logical system is used

(T000-LOGSYS). Normally this will have no affect as the convertor does not evaluate this information. However it is absolutely necessary that a logical system is assigned to every client from which EDI output is sent. Please check this setting and the correct functioning of the convertor (if necessay with the convertor producer).

A changeover to the ALE scenario 'Separate Sales and Shipping' could also have an effect. Here you must check whether the relevant output LAVA or LALE (from output control) use transmission medium '6' (EDI) and if so, as is usual from 3.0C, change to transmission medium 'A' (ALE). This medium will then use the above named field 'account number at customer'. You can find further information in the IMG under ALE Distributed Application Scenarios in "Set Scenario 'Separate Sales and Shipping'.

Effects on Customizing

Please ensure that a logical system is assigned to the client and if not, assign one. You can execute this setting in "Assign logical system to client".
