Foreign Trade: Preference Code Specification in Import Processing

Description

As of reporting period January 1997 for importing from third countries, preference is to be registered/output according to customs law based on Article 10 Section 1 letter h) of decree (EG) no. 1172/95 of the Council from 22nd May 1995.

Preference is understood as the most favorable duty conditions, the prerequisites for which have to be met at the time of submitting the customs declaration. To declare the preference, please use a three digit numerical code.

This needs to be taken into account when specifying the preference code in import item data for MM purchase orders.
