POS Interface - Inbound: New Functions in Retail
Description
As a result of requirements from the retail sector (SAP Retail), Release 4.0A includes the following new functions:
- General POS interface - inbound functions (Retail only)
- Handling of structured materials (Retail only)
- Rackjobber processing (Retail only)
- European Monetary Union (Retail only)
Of these, the following were not included in SAP Retail Release 1.2B:
- Rackjobber processing (Retail only)
- European Monetary Union (Retail only)
General POS interface - inbound functions
You can receive movement data and master data, such as sales, purchase orders, goods receipts or changes,
from your stores via the POS interface - inbound. The data is prepared in the POS interface - inbound in the form of IDocs.
The IDocs are then processed in the R/3 system, i.e. the necessary postings are made, documents created etc.
Handling of structured materials
Materials subject to deposit may be exploded at POS inbound processing. You can make this setting in POS customizing in the profiles for aggregated and non-aggregated sales.
It only makes sense to explode the materials at POS inbound processing if the POS system is not able to carry out this function itself.
Rackjobber processing
Rackjobber processing allows you to manage external goods in stores. Stocks and sales revenue from these external goods can be managed separately from the goods which are owned by your company.
European Monetary Union
It is now possible to define a currency other than the company code currency for stores. At POS - inbound,
the amounts are converted automatically. Therefore you do not need to convert the POS in all the stores of a company code at the same time.
In addition, it is possible to have different currencies for the item values and the payment types.
