FIN_ACC_GC_BCOMB: Organizational Change in Both Dimensions of a Matrix Organization (New)

Use

As of SAP enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 (SEM-BW 605), you can carry out transfer activities with organizational changes simultaneously in both dimensions in a matrix organization.

Effects on Existing Data

Effects on the user interface

Until now, the investments entry screen for the Total Transfer and Partial Transfer activities provided just one field for entering an organizational change number. In a matrix consolidation, you could enter organizational change numbers into this field for either the currency-bearing consolidation unit or the secondary (non-currency-bearing) consolidation unit. When you activate the business function FIN_ACC_GC_BCOMB, the entry screen displays a second field for entering an organizational change number in the secondary (non-currency-bearing) dimension. The existing field is still intended as the data entry field for organizational change numbers for the primary (currency-bearing) dimension.

The new field is displayed only if the following prerequisites are met:

  • You have activated the FIN_ACC_GC_BCOMB business function.
  • You have set up a matrix organization.
  • You have activated the Organizational Change function in the settings for the consolidation area.

Effects on System Administration

Until now, the system wrote the organizational change numbers for both dimensions into the same field. The following solutions can be used for legacy data:

  • When the consolidation of investments is executed, the system checks whether the existing field contains organizational change numbers for the secondary dimension. If this is the case, the system treats these organizational changes numbers in the same way it would treat them if they were entered in the new field. This takes place internally - the system does not store these changes persistently in the database.
  • If you want to store the changes persistently in the database, call transaction SE38 and execute report UCF6_CONVERT_ORGCHANGE.
