Changes in SEM-BIC for Release 3.1A
Use
Indicating characteristics with the comment facility has been realized technically as an attribute of the corresponding characteristics in BW Content. Naming conventions according to which the SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW) generated such attributes for a document has changed with the BW release 3.0A, which the SEM release 3.1A is based on. You can inform yourself about the consequences of this change for existing data in the following section.
In addition, you can now also carry out the maintenance of the comment facility of characteristics in the Administrator Workbench of the BW System, which SEM-BIC is linked to. You now make this setting in the characteristic maintenance, by setting the indicator Characteristic is document attribute on the tab page General in the group field Other. You now get to the SEM-BIC maintenance of the comment facility in the Customizing of SEM-SRM.
Effects on Existing Data
The naming convention for the technical indicator of the characteristic attribute has changed in the BW release 3.0A. This results in documents which were already assigned to such characteristics not being visible in release 3.1A.
In order to make the documents affected visible again, the SEM release 3.1A contains an XPRA report, which is executed automatically during the system implementation.
The report RSOD_XPRA_BDS_TO_KW converts the technical indicator of the objects concerned from the old into the new naming convention. Subsequently, you can access the documents again, which you had already assigned.
