Changes in SEM-BPS for Release 3.0A

Various new functions were developed and existing functions were changed for release 3.0A. Here are the most important changes:

Formula calculation was enhanced with the possibility to control the control logic when processing the function by means of newly developed language elements (conditional statements, loop constructs).

The time lag function was (in addition to the previous function) enhanced with two further variants, you can use to plan events, which proceed the primarily planned event, and which enable distribution between any periods.

The introduction of format templates in the Excel frontend has resulted in some changes to the Excel settings. Every area (row in header area, otherwise column) can be allocated its own format template. The total, subtotals and hierarchy nodes contain their own format template. Since, in the case of hierarchies, the nodes do not only appear as the last row, but also appear as the first row in the Excel of the Layout Builder, the uppermost cell which is not a total, subtotal or hierarchy node (therefore not necessarily the top cell) is used to determine the desired format template. Totals, subtotals and hierarchy nodes contain (in contrast to SEM-BPS release 2.0B) a unified format above the columns, therefore they can no longer be adjusted individually for each column. Furthermore, in interactive planning a frame is no longer displayed around the area which is ready for input.

It is now possible to create variables for a planning area. You can use variables in particular when defining levels, layouts and in planning functions in order to make settings, which have an effect on many objects, in a central place.

You must revise formula functions, which you have created with an earlier version of SEM-BPS: To separate the individual statements in the the formula editor, every statement must be concluded with a period ".". This task must be carried out for all formulas transferred from older releases. Otherwise such functions cannot be executed.

Functions of the type time lag distribution, which you have created with an earlier version of SEM-BPS, are not compitable with the functional enhancement of this function type. You must create such functions again.
