FIN_ACC_GC_ALLOC: Business Function FIN, GC, Allocation (New)

Use

As of SAP enhancement package 7 for SAP ERP 6.0 (SEM-BW 747), the new business function Financials, Group Close, Allocation is available. You can use this business function to execute allocation tasks also for two-sided elimination and consolidation group-dependent entries. The Financials, Group Close, Allocation business function also contains other new and changed functions.

  • Allocation (Enhanced)
You can execute allocation tasks also for two-sided elimination and consolidation group-dependent entries. For this, you can assign such a task a document type that posts to one of the following posting levels:
  • 20: Two-sided elimination entries

  • 30: Consolidation group-dependent entries

  • Customizing Breakdown Check (New)
After changing the breakdown of items, you can execute a consistency check, and if necessary, implement breakdown corrections for those Customizing settings in which you use these items. To execute the breakdown check for Customizing, you proceed as follows: In the process view of the workbench, choose Master Data -> Subassignments -> Breakdown Check for Customizing.
  • Method (Enhanced)
You can copy individual steps in a method. After you have created a method with a step hierarchy, the Copy entry appears in the context menu of the method steps in the screen area for Customizing objects (lower left area of the consolidation workbench). This enables you to copy individual steps within a method.
  • Assignment of Rounding Methods (New)
In a currency translation task, you can assign various rounding methods depending on the consolidation unit. To do this, you have to activate the Assignment of Rounding Methods function in the consolidation area settings.
  • Method Assignment of Reclassification Tasks (New)
In a reclassification or allocation task, you can assign various methods depending on the consolidation unit. To do this, you have to activate the Method Assignment of Reclassification Tasks function in the consolidation area settings.
  • Executability of Custom Tasks (New)
You can define the executability of a custom task depending on the consolidation unit.
To do this, you have to activate the Executability of Custom Tasks function in the consolidation area settings. In a custom task, you can then use the Per Consolidation Unit processing type to specify that the executibility of the task depends on the consolidation unit. For those consolidation units that you have not flagged as relevant in the task settings, the task appears in the consolidation monitor with the status Irrelevant.
  • Reconciliation (Enhanced)
When executing a reconciliation task, you can restrict the analysis of differences to one consolidation group. For this purpose, the settings for reconciliation tasks now contain the new Analysis of Differences group box. This group box contains two indicators:
  • Interpret Consolidation Group

  • Interpret Group Belonging

  • Validation (Enhanced)
  • You can save the results of executing a validation task and then display the results in a report. To do this, you have to execute the Validation Tasks: Save Results entry in the SEM-BCS configuration menu (transaction UC00) under the Tasks node and specify the validation task. The system then saves the results when the task is executed in an update run. In the process view of the consolidation workbench, you can find the Display Validation Results entry under the node Consolidation Functions -> Validation. By executing the entry, you can display validation results as a report.

  • You can define breakdown details for the validation log. For this purpose, the validation rule settings contain the new Breakdown navigation button.

  • Negative Stockholders' Equity (Enhanced)
In the automatic consolidation of investments, the system processes negative stockholders' equity also in activities in which the percentages of ownership change.
You activate the special functions for negative stockholders' equity in system utilization for consolidation of investments. There, you also specify whether the definitions are global, for each consolidation of investments method, or exceptions.
In Customizing for Negative Stockholders' Equity - Global on the General tab page, you activate the following special functions:
  • Allow Negative Investments

  • No Minority Interest

In Customizing for Negative Stockholders' Equity - Global and for the consolidation of investments methods, the Clearing Items tab page now contains the following posting items:
  • Clearing of Equity (required for the No Minority Interest special function)

  • Clearing of Minorities (required for the No Minority Interest special function)

  • Negative Investment, Reserves (required if you have not activated the Allow Negative Investments special function)

  • Adjustment of Minority Interest for Equity (New)
You can adjust the cumulative values of minority interest for equity so that they correspond to the current group shares. You can find the Adjust Minority Interest for Equity function in the Tools view of the consolidation workbench under the Transaction Data node. In relation to this, in the data basis on the Data Stream Fields tab page for the Activity Numbers data stream, you need to select the partner units as additional fields and then save the data basis.
  • Transfer Activities for Investment from Totals Database (New)
For the same investee unit, you can execute multiple transfer activities even if the investment is read from the totals database.
  • Mass Reversal (Enhanced)
You can update the status of tasks when executing the mass reversal. For this purpose, the selection screen for mass reversal contains the new Status Management group box with the Update Task Status indicator.
  • Archiving of Monitor Status (New)
You can archive the monitor status for closed periods. You can find the Archiving of Monitor Status function in the Tools view of the consolidation workbench under the Further Settings node. You will also find the Log of Status Archiving entry there.
  • Reporting (Enhanced)
You can make a multiple selection of consolidation groups on the selection screen for the totals data list. You can activate this function in the entry Multiple Selection of Consolidation Groups in Reports in the SEM-BCS configuration menu (transaction UC00) under the Reporting node.
  • Authorization Check when Changing Comments in Documents (New)
