Changes in SEM-CPM for Release 4.0

Use

SEM-CPM - General

Improved Performance When Working with Large Master Data Lists

When selecting characteristic values for characteristics for which very large value lists exist, you can now start by determining how to structure the list of values displayed for the selection. In particular, you can specify that a selection dialog first appears instead of a list, enabling you to restrict the amount of values displayed. The same applies for selecting hierarchies. This function is available in Management Cockpit Design as well as in the Balanced Scorecard and in the Value Driver Tree.

SEM-CPM - Balanced Scorecard

Personalization

General

In the detailed selection for the display options, you can use the configuration of the different scorecard elements to specify which detailed information should be displayed and in which order it should appear.

Setting Up How Measure Tree Is Accessed

With the measure tree indicator, you can specify whether or not users should be able to access the measure tree from the detail view of a measure.

Details on Status Determination

For the analysis of measures, you can specify whether users, in addition to entering statuses and scores, should also be able to access the calculation formula for the status. In this case, the system delivers not only the formula definition but also a graphical display of how the achieved score relates to the status derived from it. Furthermore, you receive information about the last change made to each formula.

Sorting Assigned Initiatives

It is now also possible to specify how initiative details are displayed. In particular, you can have the system display the initiatives sorted by various criteria. The sort rules specified here are then applied to wherever initiatives are listed.

Personalization Templates

The summary of personalization settings in personalization templates can now be accessed centrally in the personalization overview using the template editing function. You take the assignment of users and templates either individually from the personalization object R_CPM_BSC_PERSONALIZATION or in relation to roles in role maintenance.

Hiding Filters

With the personalization function of the analysis view of the scorecard, you can specify whether users should be able to display the filter conditions.

Scorecard Comparison

In the initial screen for scorecard comparison, the value fields assigned to the measures are no longer visible with the default setting. As a consequence, the screen for scorecard comparison is simplified significantly and more user-friendly. Where necessary, any hidden value fields can be shown as before.

Layout of e-mail Notifications

Besides the simple text format for e-mail notifications, you can now send e-mails in HTML format as well. In the Balanced Scorecard Monitor, you have the option of editing the HTML source text and specifying not just the text but also the formatting details of the notifications.

Performance Overview

The length of the scorecard element names are deliberately restricted in the Performance Overview to ensure the overview remains manageable. You can have the complete name of an element displayed as the quick info text (which appears when you position the cursor on the element).

Asymmetric Assignment of Trend Indicators and Scores

The assignment between trend indicators and scores can be set up asymmetrically so that the changes in score that are interpreted as a trend receive different amounts depending on whether the variance is positive or negative.

SEM-CPM - Management Cockpit

Data Buffering

In response to numerous requests, we once again draw users' attention to report UMM_MC_BUF that was also available in earlier releases. You can use this report to buffer data for runtime variables, CPM variables, and the relevant hierarchies, thereby improving the performance of the Management Cockpit. For more information, see SAP Note 627798 and the documentation on the Buffering Mode.

Changing Runtime Variable Values in Presentation Mode

If a cockpit contains runtime variables, you can now change the variable values directly from which the cockpit presentation in the Web browser. For this, choose the green tick icon in the overview screen of the presentation. The system then displays a field for the variable and you can select a different value.

Personalization of Runtime Variable Values

If a cockpit contains runtime variables, you can define user-specific default values for them. This function is supported for both the GUI version and the Web version of the Management Cockpit.
