SAPphone - Telephone integration in R/3

Description

SAPphone allows telephone calls to be made and received from within R/3 applications.

Calls can be started and terminated from an R/3 application running on a work center. Telephone numbers to be dialled can be transferred directly from R/3 data, modified by the user or entered manually. Notes and work items can be created for all calls. If the system has been maintained correctly, the number to be dialled is modified according to the requirements of the local telephone system and the location of the call recipient. Internal calls can be recognized or the correct digits for obtaining an outside line are added automatically. The ability to initiate calls can be configured system-wide and activated or deactivated for individual work centers.

Incoming calls can be accepted by the R/3 System. The user can decide whether calls should be displayed directly on screen or forwarded to an R/3 application, as long as the application is capable of supporting incoming calls. If the telephone number of the caller can be determined, the R/3 data can be searched for the name of the caller. Users can specify the order in which the address data is searched in the case of incoming calls. If incoming calls are to be displayed on screen, various applications are available for subsequent processing. Users can specify which applications should be displayed for selection.
