Configurable Line Item Numbering (New)

Use

As of SAP Supplier Relationship Management 7.0 (SAP SRM 7.0), you can configure the numbering scheme for line items in procurement documents. You can create your own numeric or alphanumeric line item numbering scheme. The system can assign numbers automatically. However, if you choose to manually assign numbers to your procurement document, the system checks whether the numbers are valid according to the configuration. If there are any inconsistencies, you receive an error message.

To customize line item and subline item numbering, you define the desired components of the number (for example, a hierarchical structure) and the related numbering rules. For automatic numbering, you assign numbering schemes to business processes.

To use configurable line item numbering, define settings in Customizing for Supplier Relationship Management under SRM Server-> Cross-Application Basic Settings -> Configurable Item Numbering-> Define Configurable Item Numbering Scheme
