Sourcing (Enhanced)

Use

As of SAP Supplier Relationship Management 7.0 (SAP SRM 7.0), Sourcing is enhanced through the increased integration of SAP SRM and SAP ERP. Service Procurement is now supported by enterprise service-oriented architecture (eSOA), which improves the functions available for purchase requisitions relating to service items.

You can now transfer purchase requisitions for service items with a Materials Management - External Services (MM/SRV) hierarchical structure from the back-end system to SRM. You can then apply the sourcing functions in SRM to these hierarchical structures, including:

  • Searching for terms at different levels, such as an outline or a line item. The results are displayed in a hierarchy and can be expanded and collapsed.
  • Searching for or creating contracts as a source of supply. When searching for a source of supply, the settings are applied from the related back-end system.
  • Creating RFxs
  • Demand aggregation, for example, combining several service items into a single follow-on document

The contract for a purchase requisition with a hierarchical structure is created in ERP using existing MM/SRV functions.

The follow-on process depends on the settings you have defined in Customizing for Supplier Relationship Management under SRM Server -> Sourcing-> Define Sourcing for Product Categories.
