Options (New)

Use

As of SAP Supplier Relationship Management 7.0 (SAP SRM 7.0), Procurement for Public Sector (PPS), you can use options to be able to operate more flexibly in the procurement process. When creating contracts or purchase orders, purchasers can include optional line items to extend the quantity, value, or validity of the contract or purchase order. If later the conditions or market situation make it seem favorable, you can exercise the optional line items and use them for ordering or sourcing.

Extractors for data transfer to SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence (SAP BI) are available.

The following Implementation Guide (IMG) activities are relevant:

  • Supplier Relationship Management → SRM Server → Cross-Industry Functions → Application Settings → Options → Allow Optional Line Items
In this IMG activity, you can define for every transaction type whether optional line items can be created or not.
In this IMG activity, you can schedule the status updates for options. You can also define the recipients of notifications that are related to options.
In this IMG activity, you can define whether the system includes the values of options in the total values of procurement documents.

The following Business Add Ins (BAdIs) are relevant:

You can use this BAdI to access and change all option-specific data of an optional line item on a purchase order or a contract in order to relate the option data to other data of the procurement process.. For example, you can define the exercise period in relation to the period of performance.
You can use this BAdI to limit the number of non-optional lines on purchase orders or contracts.
