SRM_WSRM_1: Business Function SRM, PI-Independent Enterprise Services
Use
As of SAP enhancement package 1 for SAP Supplier Relationship Management 7.0 (SAP SRM 7.0), the business function PI-Independent Enterprise Services is available. With this business function, you can use the Web Service Reliable Messaging (WS RM) protocol for exchanging enterprise services asynchronously between SAP SRM and SAP ERP in the Service Procurement and Central Contract Management scenarios. The main benefit is that SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (SAP NetWeaver PI) is no longer required.
Note:
This business function is activated by means of the business function Improvements for SOA reuse functions (FND_SOA_REUSE_1) and the related Customizing in the SAP Business Suite Foundation, as described below. You cannot activate it directly in SAP Supplier Relationship Management.
