SRM_CONT_IMPR_2: Unknown Account Assignment Category (New)

Use

As of SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP Supplier Relationship Management 7.0 (SAP SRM 7.0), business function SRM, Continuous Improvement 2(SRM_CONT_IMPR_2), you can use the "Unknown" account assignment category in SAP SRM procurement documents. The account assignment category determines which account assignment details are required for an item, for example, a cost center or an account number. At the beginning of the procurement process, if it is not yet clear which account assignment category should be assigned to an item, you can assign the "Unknown" category to the item. Later in the procurement process, when the account assignment category becomes clear, you can then change the account assignment category for the item. In the extended classic deployment, you can assign account assignment for requirements with an unknown account assignment in purchase orders and confirmation processes in SAP SRM. In classic deployment, a purchase order in 'Held' mode is created in SAP ERP which can be changed by the buyer to provide an account assignment.

In addition to being able to now use the "Unknown" account assignment category in SAP SRM, it is also now possible to transfer external requirements with account assignment category 'U' from SAP ERP to SAP SRM as part of the procurement process.

Effects on Existing Data

External requirements in SAP ERP support the "Unknown" account assignment category. Until SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP SRM 7.0, SAP SRM did not support the "Unknown" account assignment category in external requirements transferred from SAP ERP.
