,,SRM_SUCO_2: RFx Response Submission Outside Firewall Improvements (Enhanced)

Use

As of SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP Supplier Relationship Management 7.0 (SAP SRM 7.0), the ability of bidders to submit bids and RFx responses from outside the SAP SRM system firewall has been enhanced.

Surrogate bidding is now possible outside the firewall. The purchaser can enter a bid or RFx response outside the firewall on behalf of a bidder. For example, if the bidder cannot access the system, they can contact the purchaser to enter a bid or RFx response outside the firewall as their substitute. Bidder intent in now also possible when submitting a bid or RFx response outside the firewall.

When the payment gateway is connected to the supplier system, bidders participating in RFx processing can logon to the supplier system, open RFxs, and make tender fee payments. Payment confirmation is synchronized with the SRM server, which means that the original RFx in the SAP SRM system is updated with the payment confirmation by the system.

The transfer of RFx and RFx responses between the SAP SRM system and the external supplier system (supplier self-services) is done using enterprise services.

These improvements to RFx response submission outside the firewall further enhance the security of the SAP SRM system, as it separates the bidding process from core SAP SRM processes and prevents bidders from being able to log on directly to the SAP SRM system, which may contain other sensitive information.

Effects on Existing Data

Effects on Data Transfer

To create a bid or RFx response in supplier self-services, you must set up the master data. You define external Web services and replicate payment terms, Incoterms, dynamic attributes, and conditions in the external supplier system. To do this, you run the following activities:

Define External Web Services

Replicate Payment Terms and Incoterms

Replicate Dynamic Attributes

Replicate Conditions

Effects on System Administration

Effects on Customizing

You define the Customizing settings for this function in Customizing for SAP Supplier Relationship Management under SRM Server -> Supplier Collaboration -> Activate/Deactivate RFx Response Submission Outside Firewall Improvements and SRM Server -> Supplier Collaboration -> Activate/Deactivate RFx Response Submission Outside Firewall.

You must also have activated the RFx Response Submission Outside Firewall (SRM_701_SUCO_BIDDER_DECOUP) Customizing switch under SRM Server -> Supplier Collaboration -> Activate/Deactivate RFx Response Submission Outside Firewall.
