Smart Numbers (Enhanced)
Use
As of SAP Supplier Relationship Management 7.0 (SAP SRM 7.0), Procurement for Public Sector (PPS), the following enhancements have been made to smart numbers:
- Terminology
- Smart numbers were previously known as 'long procurement numbers'.
- Display of smart numbers in SAP ERP
- A purchase order's document smart number is integrated into all commitment and obligation processes in SAP ERP. This meets U.S. Federal Government requirements for document numbers originating from procurement documents to appear on all commitments and obligations. A field displaying the document smart number has been added to transactions in the following areas:
- Financial Accounting
- Material Management
- Controlling
- Funds Management
