Project Administration (enhanced)
Use
From Release 3.20, the architecture of the logical components has changed. The logical component now assigns logical systems uniquely to a product, in the system roles, in the entire system landscape and accross projects.
Because of this change in the use of logical components, you must first migrate projects which you created before Release 3.20, in the Project Administration, to be able to use them in subsequent project phases, e.g. in the Business Blueprint and in the Configuration.
From Release 3.20, you can delete a project in the background, in the SAP Solution Manager Project Administration.
You can also use the following new project types:
- Ugrade project
A project to upgrade existing systems.
You can perform the following activities in an upgrade project:
- Upgrade Customizing: Upgrade existing functions
and/or
- Delta Customizing: Implement additional functions
- Maintenance project
Project for maintaining a solution with the Change Manager. A maintenance project contains all maintenance activities and urgent corrections for a solution.

From Release 3.20, you can only create logical components in the Solution Manager system landscape (transaction SMSY), not in the Project Administration.
