FIN_TRM_LR_FI_AN: Foreign Exchange Valuation of the Amortized Acquisition Value (New)

Use

As of SAP enhancement package 3 for SAP ERP 6.0 (EA-FINSERV 603), business function TRM: Hedge Accounting, New Instruments, New Key Figures, you can value monetary Available for Sale (AfS) positions in a foreign currency so that currency translation differences resulting from changes in amortized costs can be posted on the basis of the income statement.

Other changes to the book value are entered in equity.

In Customizing for the Transaction Manager, you first need to specify the amortized acquisition value as a component for valuation. You do this under General Settings → Accounting → Settings for Position Management → Key Date Valuation → Define Foreign Currency Valuation Procedure.
