FIN_TRM_LR_FI_AN: Commodities (New)

Use

As of SAP Enhancement Package 3 for SAP ERP 6.0 (EA-FINSERV 603), Business Function TRM: Hedge Accounting, New Financial Products, New Key Figures, you can map the following Commodity Paper deals in the Transaction Manager (FIN-FSCM-TRM).

  • Commodity futures
  • Options on commodity futures
  • Commodity forwards

The system supports processing the financial transactions in the back office from the posting stage, to margin management, through to calculating the net present values in the Market Risk Analyzer. The Analyzer can also execute mark-to-market analyses and sensitivity analyses for commodities.

The partnership with TRIPLE POINT, which provides a front-office system, has linked the physical side and paper deal side of a commodity futures transaction.

All the functions that you require for processing commodities can be found in the application menu under Treasury and Risk Management→ Transaction Manager → Commodities.The commodities were integrated into the existing functions and the following functions were developed specially:

  • Matching Long/Short Positions(TPM91)
  • Matching Overview with Reversal Function (TPM92)
  • Commodity Master Data(TPM_CTY_MASTER)
  • Commodity Overview(TPM_CTY11)

To transfer commodity master data and commodity forwards from other systems, you can use the following new business objects:

  • CommodityMasterDatawith the methods Change, Create, Delete, GetDetail , GetList, and PrepareChangeStructure.
  • CommodityForwardwith the methods Change, Create, DealChange, DealCreate, DealGet, GetDetail, PrepareChangeStructure, Reverseand Settle

Effects on Existing Data

Due to introducing the commodities area, the user interfaces with the functions for entering financial transactions have been changed. In addition, the logical databases and some evaluation reports have been enhanced for commodities.

The following IMG activities have been provided especially to include commodities:

  • Master Data → Commodities:The Commodities node has been moved upwards and has been enhanced. The IMG activities previously available here are now under the node Commodities (Logistic, not CPE). The following activities have been added:
Commodities (Logistic, not CPE)
  • - Define Quotation Source

  • - Define Quotation Type

  • - Define Quotation Name

  • - Define Quotation Group

Commodities (Treasury)
  • Define Quotation Types and Assign Logistic Quotation Types

  • - Define Quotation Sources and Assign Logistic Quotation Sources

  • Basic Functions→ Market Data Management → Manual Market Data Entry → Statistical Data → Enter Volatilities for Commodity Prices.
  • Master Data → Statistical Data → Volatilities with Moneyness → Volatilities – Assign Underlying Instrument → Assign Commodity ID
  • Listed Derivatives/OTC Options → Master Data → Commodities
  • Define Commodity Types

  • Define Commodity Group 1

  • Define Commodity Group 2

In addition to these settings, make your Customizing settings as usual when introducing new product types to the Transaction Manager.
