Warrants: New product categories

Description

With Release 3.0D, product category 110 (warrant) has been replaced by
four different product categories for different kinds of warrants:

Product category	Description
111	Index warrant
112	Equity warrant
113	Currency warrant
114	Bond warrant

All four product categories share some features which apply to all four warrants, regardless of the underlying instrument. The characteristics of the individual warrant product categories are described here:

Index warrant

You use product category 111 to enter warrants on various indices in the system. You must enter a reference index, the index basis and a conversion base for index points into monetary units (index point) on an index currency. Under 'settlement' the system defaults to 'cash settlement' for this product category. 'Delivery' is not possible. You are therefore not able to define references to other securities.

Equity warrant

Use product category 112 to enter equity warrants in the system. For securities in this product category, you must specify the basis price and its currency.

You can select either 'Delivery' or 'Cash settlement' for the settlement type. In the case of 'delivery', you must enter a share as a reference security.

Currency warrant

A currency warrant is characterized by a basis price, its currency and the reference unit to the currency. Only 'cash settlement' is possible for the settlement type.

Bond warrant

Bond warrants have a basis price, reference unit for the bond and the related currency. You can enter a bond as the reference security, which is acquired if settlement type 'delivery' is selected.

Effects on Customizing

Defining product types

As for all other product categories, you can define as many product types for the new product categories 111 - 114. Warrants are not assigned to condition groups, as they do not have conditions. The previous restriction to the product types OSI, OSS, OSW and OSZ delivered by SAP no longer applies.
