Customer function in IDoc API.

Description

A customer function is available that allows the content of a control record to change before the actual checks with the API.

Damage caused to data by errors

If the customer function is set, then the control records delivered can be changed for both sending (outbound) and receiving (inbound). The original content of the control record is not logged.

The customer function allows the correct and complete entry of the control record to be removed from the generating application and to give it its own responsibility.

In particular in inbound processing, the fields that determine the partner profile can be manipulated in this way (business recipient determination). The fields are:
Partner type of the sender (SNDPRN)
Partner function of the sender (SNDPFC)
Partner number of the sender (SNDPRN)
Logical message (MESTYP)
Message code (MESCOD)
Message function (MESFCT)
Test indicator of message (TEST)

Further notes

Due to the various call sequences, that run depending on the port or the exception situations, the customer function can be called many times. This subject is to be taken into account during implementation.
