Mapping of Item Types to cProjects Project Types (changed)

Use

As of SAP xRPM 4.5, you can map item types to cProjects project types. You can do this additionally to the mapping of item types to cProjects project templates. The system uses this configuration while creating a portfolio item (itemO in the SAP xRPM user interface (UI).

If you create a cProjects project for an item, and if you choose a project template in the user interface (UI), then the cProjects project (project) is created from the project template (template). The list of project templates that are displayed in the UI is maintained in the IMG activity Map Item Type to cProjects Project Type or Project Templates. If do not choose a project template, the system creates the project from the project type that is mapped.

Note: There can be only one project type mapped to one item type.

Effects on Existing Data

In SAP xRPM 4.0, the project type for a item type is maintained in a the IMG activity Define Portfolio Item Types. All the data that is mapped via this activity is automatically migrated using XPRA when you upgrade to SAP xRPM 4.5

Effects on Data Transfer

There is no specific action required as all the data will be automatically migrated using XPRA.

Effects on System Administration

The system administrator has to use this IMG activity for any further mapping required between item type to project type.

Effects on Customizing

You do your settings in Customizing, by choosing SAP xApp Resource and Portfolio Management (SAP xRPM)-> Global Customizing-> Portfolio-Independent Settings -> Map Item Type to cProjects Project Type or Project Templates.
