Assignment of PM/CS orders to operational projects

Scope of Functions

Using the integration between PM and CS, you can perform automatic assignment of PM/CS orders to operational projects.

You use a new field for the assignment (PM/PS reference element): This field has been provided in PM orders in PM and in network activities and WBS elements in PS. If you have maintained an identical value in this field in a PM order, a WBS element, or a network activity for a project, the system can perform automatic assignment.

Previously, you had to manually assign PM orders to project elements separately for each order. Now you can assign large quantities of PM orders to a project in one operation, which is often necessary for complex maintenance tasks.

The field PM/PS reference element is also available in tsk lists and maintenance plans. If you create a task in a maintenance plan with reference to a task list, the value of the PM/PS reference element is copied from the task list to the maintenance plan. Correspondingly, the field value is also copied when generating PM orders from a maintenance plan.

The value of the PM/PS reference element field is forwarded in a similar way in the project system: The field is available in standard networks at activity level, and in standard WBS elements. If you create an operational project, the field value is copied to the respective operational object.
