Diagnosis

This is an error in Customizing: the rule was not configured to create the ID based on SSCC.

System Response

The system logs an error message.

Procedure

Determine the name of rule from the log (this information will be in a message several messages before the error message).

Go to Customizing for Auto-ID Infrastructure → Conditions and Rules → Rules → Define Rule. For the appropriate rule, set the parameter EPC_TYPE of activity DEVICE_CREATE_EPC_TO_WRITE to value SSCC-64 or SSCC-96.

It is always a good idea to copy the rule and make the changes to the new rule. Then you must set the condition in Customizing, such that the new rule is triggered.
