In this IMG section you can make special settings for already existing item categories in AFS.

If you use value-added services you must make settings for how item categories should be controlled during the order processing.

In addition, you can make more general AFS-specific settings, with which you influence the overall process flow of the order processing.

• For example, you can make a setting for each item category for whether or not dependent schedule lines can be split, which the ATP cannot confirm in the requested quantity for a delivery date. (splitting indicator)

• You also enter for each item category whether dependent schedule lines that are already partially or completely allocated (MRP status R or F) can be reduced in quantity or can be completely deleted (indicator Automatic Deallocation).

You can only make AFS-specific settings to already existing item categories. If you want to use your own item categories, you must first define them in the R/3 Standard IMG node.

We recommend that you copy the item categories defined by SAP and then make the AFS-specific settings you need in the copy.
