With mix indicator groups you can further specify the information you sent to your warehouse using packing types.

With mix indicator groups you can control, for example

  • whether your customer requests certain packing
  • whether your customer wants to receive the goods sorted by certain grid values
  • whether your customer accepts a packing in which different materials are packed together
  • whether your customer accepts this under certain conditions or for certain materials and if that is so, which conditions or materials, etc.

In Customizing you maintain which mix indicator group you generally need for your customers. In the application you can enter a mix indicator when using the value-added service packing per packing type and make sure that your warehouse or an external system gets the exact instructions to pack the goods according to the requests of the customer.

Define every mix indicator group by assigning a key and entering a short text for explanation.

With the key, you and the system can distinguish between the different mix indicator groups.

With the short text you enter how the packing should be performed before delivery.

According to the requirements of your company you can maintain any number of mix indicator groups, and you can subsequently change or complete the groups.

A customer orders men's and ladies' clothing and shoes. During packing the men's and ladies' clothing and shoes should not be mixed. You have two possibilities to send this information to your warehouse or external system:

  • You can define the corresponding packing types (see example for the definition of packing types)
  • You can define mix indicators and assign them to a packing type in the application. In this case your definition could be as follows:
  • M1 ladies' and men's shoes separately

  • M2 ladies' and men's clothing separately

In the application you assign a packing type (for example, one pair of shoes per box) to your material shoes, of which the customer ordered ladies' and men's sizes. For the packing type you enter the mix indicator M1. You do the same with the clothing, but this time you enter mix indicator M2 for the relevant packing type.
