In this Customizing activity, you define methods to import data (quantities) from objects in Project System (PS). This setting is necessary if you want to import plan data (quantities) from Project System before you initiate planning for a plan version or a structure element, in Project Cost and Revenue Planning (CA-CPD-FP).

You define import methods by specifying the following:

• The implementation class and the object from which you want to import quantities

• How the imported data is distributed across the plan period of a financial plan

• The key figure to which the imported data is assigned

For each import method, you also define the following:

• The fields that store the characteristics for the key figure. For example, if an import method imports quantities of a material, you may also want to import information sych as the unit of measure, the transaction currency, and so on.

• The status of a financial plan or plan version when a user is allowed to import data. For example, you allow import of data only when a plan version is new.
